Hauling

Wood hauling and chip cleanup

The part of a tree job people forget to ask about until it is sitting on the lawn. Wood is heavy, brush is bulky, and getting it off your property is real work with a real truck.

Method
Chipped on site, loaded out, ground blown
Outcome
Nothing left behind you did not ask to keep
A felled trunk cut into rounds on a lawn with saws and gear where the crew set them down

Before you book this one

When you need this

  • A tree has already come down and the wood is still lying there
  • You do not burn or heat with wood and do not want rounds stacked
  • There is a pile of brush from your own work that has to go
  • The chip pile from a previous job is still on the drive
  • You want the yard genuinely finished, not mostly finished

What we do

  • Brush chipped and taken away in the chip truck
  • Rounds cut to a length you can move, then stacked where you want them or loaded out
  • Everything raked and blown so the lawn is not left full of chip and sawdust
  • You choose at the estimate what stays and what goes, and it goes on the estimate as its own line
  • Chip left on site for your beds or paths if that is what you would rather have

What to know

  • Hauling is real truck time, so it is always its own line on the estimate rather than something quietly folded in
  • We are not a general debris service. This is tree material, not a house clearout
  • There is a limit to how far off the drive we can reach without carrying it by hand, and we will point that out before we start

On most of our own jobs this is just part of the day. Brush goes through the chipper as it comes down, the trunk gets cut into rounds, and by the time we leave the only evidence is the gap where the tree used to be.

It becomes its own service when the tree is already down. That happens more than you would think, from a homeowner who felled something themselves, or a job somebody else did and did not finish. Wood is heavy in a way that surprises people. A single fir round can weigh more than a man can lift, and a hundred foot tree is a truck load, not a trailer load.

So the conversation at the estimate is simple. What do you want to keep, where do you want it, and what should disappear. Some people want everything gone. Plenty of people up here want the rounds stacked for firewood and only the brush taken. Some want the chip left in a pile because it is going on the beds. All of that is fine, it just needs deciding before we turn up rather than after.

Questions people ask about this

Can you leave the wood for firewood?

Yes, and a lot of customers here want exactly that. Tell us at the estimate and we will cut the trunk into rounds at whatever length suits your stove or your splitter, and stack them where you want them rather than leaving them where they fell. That usually costs less than hauling, because the truck time comes out of it. What we do not do is split it for you.

Do you take away wood from a job somebody else did?

Yes. Come to us with a lawn full of rounds and brush from a tree that came down months ago and that is a perfectly normal job. We will want to look at it in person first, because what matters is how much of it there is and how close a truck can get, and neither of those reads accurately off a photograph.

What do you do with the chip?

It leaves in the chip truck by default. If you want it, say so, and we will blow it into a pile wherever on the property you point at. Fresh chip is good for paths and for topping up beds and it costs you nothing to keep, so it is always worth asking yourself before the day. Once the truck leaves, that decision is made.

Tell us what the trees are doing and we will come out, walk the property with you and write it up. The visit is free, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and you get an itemized estimate you can hold on to.
