Tree service in Bothell, Washington

Bothell straddles the county line along the Sammamish River, and it is one of the more built up places we work. Lots are smaller, houses sit closer together, and there is a lot more overhead wire than there is in the north of our area. It also has serious greenbelt: steep wooded slopes and ravines running through neighborhoods, full of tall second growth conifer and big leaf maple leaning out over back fences. What that adds up to is that almost nothing here is a straightforward fell. Trees come apart in pieces on ropes, the material has to be lowered to a spot somebody has cleared, and every job needs a plan before anybody leaves the ground.

Bothell matters to us for a reason beyond the work. One of the very first jobs we ever did as a business was for a customer named Ted in Bothell, back when this was weekend work and we both had other jobs. It is on our projects page in Devin's own words.

The practical thing to know if you are in Bothell is that access decides the job. A tree over a back fence on a ravine lot, with no vehicle access to the rear and forty feet of carry to the drive, is a completely different day from the same tree with a gate a chipper can get through. That is not something anyone can judge from a photograph, which is the main reason we quote at the property.

Questions from Bothell

There is no way to get a truck to my back yard. Can you still do it?

Usually, yes, it just changes the shape of the day. Where a machine cannot reach, material gets carried or dragged to wherever the chipper can sit, which is real labor and it goes on the estimate honestly rather than being discovered halfway through. What we will do at the visit is walk the actual route out, gate widths and all, so the plan is agreed before anybody starts.

The tree is near power lines. Will you touch it?

It depends on which lines and how close. There is a clear difference between the service drop running to your own house and the utility's primary conductors on the poles, and the second of those is not ours to work near. We will look at it and tell you plainly what we can do and what has to go through the utility first, rather than finding out on the day.

Tell us what the trees are doing and we will come out, walk the property with you and write it up. The visit is free, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes, and you get an itemized estimate you can hold on to.
