Some of the work, written up plainly

These are jobs we have actually done. Four of these are write ups we put on our old site, in our own words. Three more come off the camera, with the dates and times exactly as it recorded them.

Snohomish County

A side yard given back in one morning

A laurel and a conifer had grown across a gravel passage down the side of the house, tight against the siding, with a rock retaining wall on the other side and nowhere to swing anything. By late morning the passage was clear end to end.

Both photographs came off the same camera, from the same spot, two hours apart. The first is stamped 09:33 and the second 11:23. We have put the times on the record because they are the camera's, not ours.

Species
Laurel and conifer
Constraint
Gravel side passage against the siding, rock wall opposite
Outcome
Passage clear end to end
Date
July 17, 2026
A gravel side passage grown shut by a laurel and a conifer tight against the siding of a house 09:33
The same gravel side passage clear from end to end later the same morning 11:23
Arlington

Three cottonwoods at Christ the King, Arlington

At Arlington's own Christ the King Community Church we removed 3 GIANT Cottonwoods in 2024

Cottonwood is one of the heaviest and most brittle things we take down in this county, and three of them on one site is a genuine day's rigging.

Species
Cottonwood
Constraint
Three large trees on one site
Outcome
All three removed
Date
2024

Over 200 feet of arborvitae in Arlington

At this job, here in Arlington, we topped an arborvitae hedge that was over 200 feet long

Cutting a hedge to a line is not the same thing as topping a tree, and we say why on the hedge page. On a run this long the whole job is holding one straight cut for 200 feet and getting every scrap of it off the property.

Species
Arborvitae
Size
Over 200 feet of hedge
Outcome
Cut back to a line, everything chipped and hauled
A man on an A frame ladder cutting a very tall arborvitae hedge to a line
Snohomish County

Raising the canopies for Shane and Wendy

We helped our customers Shane and Wendy raise the canopies of several Conifers on this project and got rid of a few widowmakers too!

A widowmaker is a dead limb hung up in a crown waiting to come down on its own. Getting them out is usually the most useful thing anybody does on a property that day.

Species
Conifers
Constraint
Along a horse trail
Method
Canopies raised, hung deadwood removed
Outcome
Clearance underneath and nothing left overhead
A climber reaching up to clip a chainsaw onto his line beside a fresh cut face
Snohomish County

A trunk down and cut to rounds

A trunk on the lawn, cut into rounds, saws and gear still where we set them down. This is what the middle of a removal looks like before the ground gets raked and blown.

The camera recorded this one on June 16, 2026. We have kept it on the site because most tree company galleries only ever show the finished lawn, and the work is the part worth seeing.

Method
Felled, limbed and cut to rounds on site
Outcome
Rounds ready to stack or load out
Date
June 16, 2026

An overgrown hedge squared off in a day

An arborvitae run that had gone well over head height and lost its shape, photographed before we started and again after it was cut back to a line, ladder still leaning against it.

Camera stamps read 09:33 and 15:21, about six hours apart. The two frames are taken from different spots in the yard rather than the same one, so we show them side by side and never as a slider pretending they line up.

Species
Arborvitae
Method
Cut to an agreed line, sides and top
Outcome
A straight line and a clear ground
Date
March 28, 2026
A run of arborvitae hedge well over head height before it was cut back Before
The same arborvitae hedge cut back to a straight line later that day After
Bothell

One of our first jobs, for Ted in Bothell

This was one of our very first jobs as a business for Ted in Bothell, WA. for this tree we had to lower a bunch of branches on rigging ropes and pullleys and bring all the material out from the back yard.

We started as weekend work in 2023 while we both had other jobs. Ted was one of the customers who made it look like it could be more than that.

Species
Douglas fir
Constraint
Everything carried out from the back yard
Method
Branches lowered on rigging ropes and pulleys
Outcome
One of the jobs the business was built on
A limbed spar standing above a house roofline partway through a sectional removal
